The bottom of the Varzuga River will be deepened in the Murmansk region

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Fisheries of the Murmansk Region has begun searching for a contractor for dredging operations on the Varzuga River. The initial cost of the contract is 58.8 million rubles.
According to the public procurement portal, the work must be carried out in the area of the village of Kuzomen, Tersky district. The length of the site is 2.3 km. Deepening of the riverbed is required to reduce the risks of negative effects of water on human settlements. This is reported by the Bi-port news agency.
The contractor will be selected on March 20. The work must be completed by December 20, 2030.
In Vladivostok, specialists are clearing the Saline riverbed. Measures are being taken to prevent emergencies related to overflowing water.
