A criminal case on fraud in excess of 156 million rubles was opened in the Kursk region, Interior Ministry spokeswoman Irina Volk said on March 12 in a Telegram channel.

It is noted that the investigation suspects officials of Kursk Region Development Corporation JSC and two other commercial organizations of unlawful acts. It is claimed that they have signed contracts for the production and supply of concrete pyramids intended for the construction of barrier lines in the Kursk region.

"It was previously established that these organizations supplied triangular structures of inadequate quality. The strength of the concrete was two times less than the stated requirements," wrote Volk.

The amount of damage exceeded 156 million rubles, said the official representative of the Interior Ministry.

A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. At the moment, law enforcement agencies are continuing to investigate the criminal case.

On the same day, the FSB of Russia in the Zaporizhia region reported the detention of the general director of one of the road enterprises. It was established that the detainee overestimated the amount of work performed under the state contract, which led to the embezzlement of budget funds on an especially large scale. The total amount of damage exceeded 13 million rubles.
