Russians got the opportunity to pay by QR code in Turkey

VTB customers will be able to pay for their purchases in Turkey using a QR code. According to the bank, the credit institution launched this functionality on March 12.
Payments are made in rubles and then converted into Turkish lira. There is no commission for making a payment, while the limit for one operation is from 10 to 350 thousand rubles.
According to Rostislav Yanikin, head of the department of transactional retail business, Senior Vice President of VTB, citing data from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 6.7 million Russians visited this country last year, almost all of them combined holidays with shopping.
"The technology platform for trading in Turkey is actively developing: QR codes launched in 2020 are now accepted in stores at 95% of terminals," he said. Paying for purchases through the app "will significantly increase the convenience for Russians, the attractiveness of Turkish resorts and make the holiday season even more attractive this year," Yanikin added.
The technology and service are already operating in neighboring countries, including Tajikistan. VTB intends to expand the range of settlement solutions for users in other areas this year.
