- A military expert called sustainable peace in Ukraine unprofitable for the United States

The strategic policy of the United States implies the existence of a militarized and anti-Russian Ukraine, which exists at the expense of investments from European countries. American leader Donald Trump would like to stop the hot phase of the conflict and switch to fulfilling Washington's interests in the Indo-Pacific region. This opinion was shared with Izvestia on March 12 by Andrey Koshkin, head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, a military expert.
Thus, he commented on the results of the negotiations between the United States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia, after which Washington restored the supply of weapons and the transfer of intelligence to Kiev.
"They (the USA) technologically announce to everyone that they want peace. In fact, Trump is solving completely different tasks. He needs the fighting to stop. He will receive the Nobel Peace Prize and begin to stop China's actions in the Indo-Pacific region," Koshkin said.
He specified that the United States would force European countries to invest more in the military-industrial complex and take over the provision of Ukraine. According to the source, only "regulators and observers" will remain in Washington.
"So they're not going to talk about any peace. They don't care if the strategic concept remains the same. The West is against Russia. They need a militarized Ukraine against Russia. And the United States would not like to participate in this, because they are a nuclear power, and if they come into fire contact with the Russian Federation, they can play up to a nuclear war. The United States realized this when they had a clueless president Joe Biden," the expert concluded.
According to him, against the background of continued military assistance from the United States, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will continue to resist the Russian army. At the same time, he added, the ideas of Kiev and Washington on a 30-day truce are fraught with risks for the Russian Federation.
"The same rake with Minsk, They can't come up with anything else, they have a front now, problems in the Kursk border area. They need these 30 days to put themselves in order, reorganize their units, make reserves, rotate, and rearm. No one has agreed on these 30 days with Moscow, whether we agree or not. They want to raise the whole world against us — they put pressure on Ukraine, it agreed, and if Russia refuses, it will be exposed as an aggressor. This is such a technology," concluded Koshkin.

On March 11, Ukraine expressed its readiness for a 30-day ceasefire during talks with the United States in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. On the same day, the US president announced that he intended to obtain the consent of Russian leader Vladimir Putin for a cease-fire in Ukraine. He stressed that he was going to have a conversation with the Russian president this week. According to Trump, representatives of the countries will meet next week to discuss the Ukrainian conflict.
