Sergunina spoke about the popularity of Moscow weekend fairs

This year, the Moscow weekend fairs opened for the first time immediately after the New Year holidays — on January 10. By the beginning of March, visitors had purchased over 500 tons of various goods, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.
"Traditionally, vegetables and fruits have become the leaders of sales, especially potatoes, apples and tangerines. Next in popularity are meat and dairy products, fish and seafood," she said.
In addition to the main categories of goods, you can find pastries, honey, nuts, vegetable oils and more at fairs.
Products are imported from more than 40 regions of Russia. Key suppliers include manufacturers from the Ryazan, Lipetsk, Tambov, Tula and Sverdlovsk regions, the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea.
Previously, weekend fairs were open only during the warm season, but in February 2024, new year-round pavilions opened in the city. Each of them is equipped with modern heating and air conditioning systems, which makes it possible to create comfortable conditions for sellers and buyers. There are 29 such trading platforms in the capital today — the 29th one was opened in 2025 on Admiral Makarov Street. In total, 3.7 million people visited the year-round fairs last year.
