The tour operator named popular destinations during the spring school holidays

St. Petersburg has become the most popular destination for cultural and educational family holidays and organized trips of school groups for spring school holidays among tourists. This city accounts for 29% of bookings, according to data from the national tour operator Alean, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 12.

The list of popular vacation dates also includes: Moscow (20%), Kaliningrad (15%), Kazan (14%), Minsk (7%).

"The demand for sightseeing tours in St. Petersburg for the dates of the spring school holidays increased by 10% compared to the same period last year. Tourist requests do not change: classic excursion programs with interactive elements are in demand. For example, they often request a bus tour using VR glasses: by wearing virtual reality glasses, tourists can see what the city looked like in the 18th century," said Olga Guliyenko, Product Director of the National Tour Operator Alean in St. Petersburg.

In addition, tourists traveling with the whole family, as well as school groups, are interested in field trips. For example, in addition to St. Petersburg, they visit Tsarskoye Selo, Peterhof, Gatchina, Pavlovsk, Kronstadt. The trip to Kazan is complemented by excursions to Bolgar and Sviyazhsk. In the Kaliningrad region, they visit Svetlogorsk, Zelenogradsk, and the village of Yantarny.

At the same time, experts noted that travelers are interested in viewing industrial tourism facilities. There are requests from schools to visit the Kommunarka confectionery factory and the BelAZ plant in Belarus, higher educational institutions and research centers. Those who travel with children of primary and secondary school age become guests of entertainment facilities and unusual museums.

At the same time, three-day sightseeing tours to St. Petersburg for a family of two adults and one child will cost tourists from 26,750 rubles. Prices for sightseeing programs in Moscow for the same group of tourists for three days start from 32,045 rubles, to Kaliningrad and the region — from 31,676 rubles, to Kazan — from 41,580 rubles, to Minsk — from 58,501 rubles.

According to their information, Russians are more likely to choose Sochi, Lake Ladoga and Dagestan for recreation. Experts singled out Egypt, Japan and Turkey among the foreign destinations.
