New emissions of petroleum products were recorded on the Anapa coast after the collapse of the tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 against the background of weather warming and rising water temperatures in the Black Sea. This was announced on March 12 by the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev.

"Since last week, the temperature of the air and water in the Black Sea has begun to rise. As we expected, small fractions of petroleum products that had previously been at the bottom began to be thrown onto the Anapa coast," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

It is noted that special services are monitoring the situation on the city's coastline. In addition, about 1,700 people are involved in the removal of contaminated sand and soil, including municipal teams, as well as emergency workers and volunteers.

According to Kondratiev, the possibility of holding a holiday season will be considered jointly with Rospotrebnadzor. He added that human safety and health issues remain a priority in making a final decision.

In addition, at a meeting with representatives of the administrations, measures were discussed to help the enterprises of the Anapa and Temryuk district sanatorium industry, which need support to preserve their businesses and teams.

Earlier, on March 9, new fuel oil emissions were detected on the Anapa coastline. It was clarified that a small amount of petroleum products was recorded between the village of Vityazevo and the village of Blagoveshchenskaya.

On December 15, 2024, tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 crashed in the Kerch Strait due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of petroleum products. 27 people were evacuated from both ships, one person died. On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group was set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
