On March 12, the Russian Foreign Minister called the behavior of France and Germany in relation to the Minsk agreements they signed deplorable. He made the corresponding statement on March 12 in an interview with American bloggers Mario Naufalu, Larry Johnson and Andrew Napolitano.

"The way the French and Germans behaved is shameful. In the end, those who signed on behalf of Ukraine, Germany and France are [ex-President of Ukraine] Petro Poroshenko (is a member of the association included by Rosfinmonitoring in the list of those involved in extremist activities or terrorism. — Ed.), [ex-Chancellor of Germany] Angela Merkel and [former French President] Francois Hollande said in an interview (while already retired) that they were never going to implement these agreements," he said in an interview published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to the minister, these parties needed to "buy time to pump Ukraine with weapons." He also clarified that NATO played a key role in the Ramstein process.

Lavrov added that European representatives are stepping up their efforts and demanding more and more support, "becoming more persistent and nervous."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 8 that France had told a lot of lies, in particular about Hollande's statements about the Minsk agreements. According to him, in 2014, among other European countries, France signed a document that guaranteed the legitimate President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych his political future.

In turn, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that Kiev had done everything to "bury" the Minsk agreements with the connivance of the West. She also recalled that in 2022-2023, Merkel and Hollande admitted that they had never taken the signed document seriously.
