The prosecution has requested six years in prison for the journalist Kevorkova.

The prosecutor requested that journalist Nadezhda Kevorkova (included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation by Rosfinmonitoring), accused of justifying terrorism, be sentenced to six years in prison. This information was confirmed on March 12 by a source of Izvestia in court.
The prosecution also asked the court to impose a fine of 500,000 rubles and restrict her access to the Internet for six years.
The 2nd Western District Military Court began considering the journalist's case on March 10, and the defendant pleaded not guilty.
A criminal case has been opened against Kevorkova under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism").
On May 6, 2024, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation charged the journalist because of online publications about the Taliban Movement (the organization is under UN sanctions). She is charged with two counts. The first of them is related to the publication in 2018, and the second in 2021. Her apartment was also searched.
According to the Izvestia source, she was also in close contact with representatives of international terrorist organizations (ITOs). For example, with Israil Akhmednabiyev (listed as a terrorist and extremist), the coordinator and founder of radical Islamic foundations, known as Abu Umar Sasitlinsky.
In addition, it was reported that members of the MTO Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (recognized as a terrorist organization, banned in the Russian Federation) also invited Kevorkova to Syrian Idlib in 2021 to cover their activities.
