The defense of the American Black, convicted in Primorye, filed a cassation appeal.

Lawyer Igor Kirichenko, representing the interests of Gordon Black, a US citizen convicted in Primorye, filed a cassation appeal against the court verdict and the appeal ruling. This was announced on March 12 by the joint press service of the courts of Primorsky Krai in its Telegram channel.
In the complaint, the defense asks to acquit Black under Article 119 of the Criminal Code ("Threat to kill"), as well as to reclassify the charge under Article 158 of the Criminal Code ("Theft") to a less serious part.
In addition, the lawyer petitions for a reduction in punishment, taking into account mitigating circumstances.
"The criminal case against Black Gordon Chris has been sent to the ninth Court of Cassation of general jurisdiction," the statement said.
In May 2024, it became known that Black had come to the Russian woman after meeting her in South Korea. Later, the girl had a conflict with him, after which she discovered the loss of funds and turned to the police for help. Black was arrested for two months.
Later, on June 17, during the second hearing in the Pervomaisky district Court, the American stated that he partially recognized the charge against him. At the same time, he pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill his girlfriend.
On June 19, 2024, the Pervomaisky District Court of Vladivostok sentenced Gordon Black to three years and nine months in a penal colony.
