Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, 6+

The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts has opened an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Art Gallery, which today has over three thousand works from the Middle Ages to the present day. The project tells about an important stage in the history of the State Museum of Fine Arts, when paintings by Rembrandt, Frans Sneijders, Guercino, Nicolas Poussin and other recognized masters were added to the Egyptian collection and the collection of casts. A small exhibition unfolded on a White floor, equipped with explanatory text, documents and photographs, tells about the initial period of the Art Gallery's formation and the main stages of its history.

The exhibition is dedicated to the history of Catherine II's stay in Moscow during 1775. The first section of the exhibition is about the residents of Moscow who met the Empress. A separate section is devoted to the surroundings of the Prechistensky Palace: what Catherine II saw from its windows. This is the Alekseevsky Monastery located opposite, whose place was later occupied by the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The last room tells about the dramatic fate of the Prechistensky Palace. Shortly after Catherine II's departure to St. Petersburg, it was dismantled and moved to the foundations of the old royal palace on Vorobyovy Gory. The exhibition is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the comedy "Woe from Wit" and the 230th anniversary of its author Alexander Griboyedov. The work is considered the pinnacle of drama and poetry. The bright aphoristic style contributed to the fact that she was all about quotes.

The hero of the play Chatsky became a special character in the repertoire of the great Russian artist Vasily Kachalov. He was lucky enough to play this role for 33 years. For the first time in the Moscow Art Theater, "Woe from Wit" was played in 1906. Konstantin Stanislavsky and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko found it an interesting task to stage one of the most repertory plays of the Russian stage. The exhibition presents sketches of decorations and costumes, portraits, photographs, archival documents, furniture, props, memoirs of contemporaries and many inspired poetic lines from "Woe from Wit" performed by Vasily Ivanovich Kachalov.

In 2025, the country celebrates the 80th anniversary of the end of the bloodiest war in human history. People from one of the most peaceful professions, museum staff, also had their own front. The exhibition "To be remembered ..." is designed to tell the little-known story of the feat of museum workers of Leningrad and suburban palaces-museums. During the years of the blockade, they lived and worked in St. Isaac's Cathedral and were able to preserve the treasures of our culture. The exhibition will feature items from the museum's collections, several installations reproducing the appearance of the cathedral during the years of the blockade, archival photographs of the war years, documents, and video materials.

On the birthday of the greatest Russian radio engineer, Alexander Popov, the Polytechnic Museum is conducting a thematic tour of its Open Collection, "We are on the Air." Popov's main invention is radio. On May 7 (25), 1895, at a meeting of the Russian Physico-Chemical Society, the inventor demonstrated for the first time a device whose bell reacted to vibrations of Hertz waves outdoors at a distance of about 60 meters. Popov created the first radio communication system capable of operating in Morse code. This scheme has become a classic and formed the basis of first-generation radio communication devices. And since 1945, Radio Day has been celebrated in our country — a professional holiday for workers in all communication industries. In the collection of the Polytechnic Museum there is a receiver model designed by Alexander Popov in 1895.

Richard Wagner Festival at the Bolshoi Theatre, 16+

The GABT Festival, dedicated to Wagner's work, has reached its apogee. The tetralogy "Ring of the Nibelung" will be shown in full on the Historical Stage. Soloists from the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters will take part in the performances.
