In January-February 2025, the number of accidents on the MKAD decreased by 34% compared to the same period last year. During the same period, the number of deaths in such accidents decreased by 40%. The Moscow Department of Transport announced this on March 12 in its Telegram channel.

Deptrans said that such results were achieved thanks to a number of measures. Thus, the video analytics system, which operates on the MKAD, records 13 types of incidents on the roadway. The highway Patrol helps drivers in difficult situations.

In addition, the data center's situation center monitors traffic around the clock. Finally, the death toll has decreased due to the fact that drivers in the event of a minor accident on the MKAD pull over to the side of the road or to a safe place, the Department of Transport noted.

On March 7, it was reported that inspectors from the Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate (MADI) would strengthen control on four streets of the capital. As Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy mayor for Transport, noted, strengthening control on these city streets will increase their capacity and reduce the number of emergencies.

On March 3, Deptrans reported that last winter, tow trucks from the Moscow Parking lot moved almost 10,000 premium-class cars to special parking lots.
