Scabies was diagnosed in more than 100 residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

In 2024, 123 people had scabies in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Such data was reported by the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the region.

The sanitary authorities note that the incidence is fixed at the level of 2023, it is below the average annual values.

Scabies was mainly diagnosed in the adult population (88 people). Almost 85% of cases are in the cities of the region. Residents of Krasnoyarsk, Kansk, Nazarovo, Yeniseisk, Lesosibirsk, Uzhursky district and Taimyr municipal district were most often ill.

The ministry noted that it is possible to get scabies not only through contact with a sick person, but also by using things in common with him, writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency.

Earlier it was reported that the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to submit a report on the criminal case of mass infection of residents of a boarding school in the village of Chitkan in Buryatia. It was found that 48 people were diagnosed with scabies due to neglect of the requirements for admission of citizens to the institution and untimely isolation of people with signs of infection. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation clarified that for several months the management of the boarding school had been hiding information about the infection of the guests.
