The smoking ban zone at cafes and bus stops will be increased in Transbaikalia

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, they plan to increase the distance for smoking from bus stops and cafes. The relevant bill was considered by the Committee on State Policy and Local Self-government of the regional parliament. The initiative is aimed at preserving health and maintaining a comfortable environment.
According to committee representative Jargal Zhapov, quoted by ChitaMedia news agency, the distance is proposed to be increased from 15 to 30 m. When drafting the bill, citizens' appeals were taken into account, which indicated insufficient legal regulation in the field of public health protection.
In addition, the bill obliges local authorities to install signs and other warning signs about the prohibition of smoking near such places. For non-compliance with the law, the fine should be increased from 1 to 2 thousand rubles, and for repeated violations it is proposed to fine from 3 to 5 thousand rubles.
The deputies of the State Policy and Local Government Committee supported the bill unanimously. Then it will be sent to the social committee for approval, the agency notes.
In mid-February, it was reported that the French parliament had passed a law that bans single-use electronic cigarettes in the country. It is noted that the adopted law prohibits in France the sale or other distribution of electronic devices that are intended for single use.
