Salmonellosis was found in 45 employees of a mining company in Transbaikalia

In the Mogochinsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, 45 employees of the Zheltuginsky Mining Company were diagnosed with the infectious disease salmonellosis. This was announced on March 12 by the regional Rospotrebnadzor in the Telegram channel.

"In the period from March 10 to March 12, 2025, 45 cases of salmonellosis were registered among employees of the Zheltuginskaya Mining Company LLC shift settlement," the statement said.

The ministry added that all the infected were hospitalized. A complex of sanitary and anti-epidemic measures is being carried out.

It is specified that samples of finished products, leftovers of food and water were taken for inspection in the food department of the shift settlement. In addition, disinfection is carried out in dormitories and in the canteen of the shift settlement.

Earlier that day, a mass poisoning occurred in the dormitory of the specialized educational and scientific center of the Ural Federal University of Yekaterinburg (UrFU), then 20 people were hospitalized. Five ambulance crews were working at the site, as well as an infectious disease specialist at the territorial disaster medicine center. The Ministry of Health of the region later reported that the number of hospitalized people had increased to 28, and 31 people had applied for medical help.
