Since 2011, 2,347 cultural heritage sites have been restored in Moscow, and work has been carried out on almost a third of all monuments in the city. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

In his Telegram channel, he also announced that Moscow has approved plans for restoration work for the current year. In particular, it is planned to put in order more than 100 monuments and other works of monumental and decorative art dedicated to the heroes and events of the Great Patriotic War.

In addition, restoration of monuments located on the territory of large complexes is envisaged, including in the estates of Kuzminki, Kuskovo, Ostankino and Lyublino, as well as in the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. Comprehensive work will be carried out at nine VDNH facilities, including the pavilions "Chemistry", "Young Naturalists", "Glavtabak" and "Soviet Seal".

Priority objects for the work of restorers will be, in particular, the building of the Polytechnic Museum, the estate of A.A. Bakhrushin, the Maltsev apartment building on Bolshaya Yakimanka and the 18th–19th century urban estate built on Prechistenka.

"There are currently more than 400 permits in force in the capital for the preservation of cultural heritage sites," Sobyanin said.

At the end of February, the mayor of Moscow announced that there are more than 10 colleges in the capital that train future restorers. According to him, students study drawing and painting, design, and ways to restore and preserve historical and cultural monuments. Up to 70% of the study time is devoted to practice, which takes place in college workshops and on the sites of partner employers. During the summer holidays, students travel to the Tver and Arkhangelsk regions.: There, during expeditions, they study architecture and restore monuments, the mayor added.
