Astronomers have discovered 128 "moons" orbiting Saturn

Astronomers have discovered 128 new "moons" orbiting Saturn, The Guardian reported on March 11.
It is clarified that until recently, Jupiter held the title of "king of the moons", but now Saturn has a total of 274 moons, which is almost twice as many as all the other planets of the Solar System combined.
The material says that the satellites were discovered using a special method in which scientists take sequential pictures of the sky, tracking the movement of the satellites, and then overlay the images on top of each other to make the objects bright enough for detection.
It is also noted that the increase in the number of such objects suggests that in the future there may be disagreements about what to consider "moons".
According to the newspaper, the satellites have been officially recognized by the International Astronomical Union and at the moment they have already been assigned a series of numbers and letters. They will be given names later.
Earlier, on March 7, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced the failure of the Athena spacecraft mission after the probe fell on its side onto the surface of the Moon.
