The UK has opened a criminal case on the terrorist attack on the fact of the crimes of the VFU in Cherkassy district

On March 12, Svetlana Petrenko, the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (IC RF), announced the initiation of a criminal case into a terrorist act committed by militants of the armed formations of Ukraine (VFU) in the village of Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, Kursk region.

According to the investigation, no later than the beginning of March, militants who illegally invaded the territory of Russia killed at least four civilians in the village.

"The bodies of civilians with signs of violent death were found in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross," Petrenko said.

At the moment, the Investigative Committee staff is conducting investigative actions aimed at identifying the victims, and forensic examinations have also been appointed. During the preliminary investigation, all VFU militants involved in this crime will be identified and brought to justice, the representative of the Investigative Committee added.

It is specified that the bodies of elderly civilians were found in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross located in the village. In addition, the body of a disabled man was found in an apartment building.
