Lyceum in Yekaterinburg switched to online education after an outbreak of gastroenteritis

The Specialized Educational and Scientific Center of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) in Yekaterinburg, from whose dormitory 28 people were hospitalized after an outbreak of gastroenteritis, switched to online training. This was announced on March 12 by the university's press service in Telegram.

"Classes at the lyceum will be conducted remotely until the holidays, which are scheduled for March 19-30," the message says.

The press service also clarified that the university services, together with infectious diseases doctors and employees of the regional headquarters of Rospotrebnadzor, are clarifying information about the number of poisonings and the causes of the disease in the dormitory of the university lyceum.

A mass poisoning in a dormitory in Yekaterinburg was reported earlier that day. Five ambulance crews were working at the site, as well as an infectious disease specialist at the territorial disaster medicine center. The Ministry of Health of the region reported that the number of hospitalized increased to 28 people, 31 people applied for medical help.
