The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia plans to introduce mandatory labeling of radio electronics, including for smartphones and laptops, as well as for some lighting devices from September 1, 2025. The relevant resolution was published on March 12 on the official website of the legal information.

"To approve the attached rules for labeling certain types of electronic products by means of identification," the statement said.

This initiative provides for the transition of manufacturers of these products, as well as importers, to mandatory labeling. At the same time, manufacturers must be listed in the register of the information system for monitoring the turnover of labeled goods from September 1 of this year.

Earlier, on January 10, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to include automotive radio-electronic components in an experiment on labeling electronics from February 28, 2025. In particular, it was proposed to supplement the list of individual types of electronic products with speed counters, taximeters, distance meters in miles, speedometers and tachometers.

The experiment on labeling radio-electronic products began in Russia on December 1, 2023. At the first stage, the list included lighting products and their components, such as sockets, light-sensitive conductors, lamps and lanterns.
