An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred in the southern Osh region of Kyrgyzstan. This was announced on Wednesday, March 12, on the website of the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic.

"The intensity in the hearth is about 5. The depth is 26 km. It was felt on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic," the scientists clarified.

The tremors were registered at 03:11 (00:11 Moscow time) in the area of the settlements of Shark and Kyzyl-Kyshtak. According to preliminary data, no one was injured as a result of the seismic event.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that an earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. The epicenter was at a depth of 10 km. No possible injuries or damage were reported.
