The Russian military told about the atrocities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Cherkassy district

The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) tortured civilians in the village of Cherkasskoye Porechnoye and used them to prevent the Russian military from advancing. The fighters of the Russian army themselves told Izvestia about this on March 12.

"Exhausted, hungry, cold. And they spoke directly: they (the Ukrainian fighters. They just wouldn't let us out. <...> That is, [the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters] knew that there were civilians here. And just if one of our people had tried to evacuate them, take them away, they would have been killed," said an Akhmat special forces stormtrooper with the call sign Archie.

In addition, the militants used residential buildings in order to equip their combat points and strongholds there. When retreating, they destroyed them and took all their property.

"This is how houses in Cherkassky Porechny look from the inside now. As you can see, everything is pierced by shrapnel from shells, everything is shot through. Each of these buildings was a firing point for the Ukrainian Armed Forces," said Izvestia correspondent Emil Timashev.

He also clarified that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used the churches and schools of the village, and also kept civilians in them. They destroyed and looted the temple in the village.
