On March 11, American leader Donald Trump announced that he hoped for the consent of Russian President Vladimir Putin to end hostilities in Ukraine.

"Ukraine has agreed to a cease-fire. Now we need to get consent from President Putin," the American leader said during a press conference at the White House.

In addition, Trump added that the American and Russian delegations plan to hold meetings soon to discuss the Ukrainian issue.

On the same day, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, following talks with the Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia, announced that the United States would send a cease-fire proposal to Russia through several channels in Ukraine. He stressed that Washington hopes for a positive response from Moscow. At the same time, it was reported that Ukraine, during negotiations with the United States in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, expressed its readiness for a 30-day ceasefire.
