The Ministry of Emergency Situations talked about ways to determine the malfunction of the equipment by the color of the gas

A malfunction of the gas equipment can be determined by the color of the gas, for example, if the flame has a yellow tint, then it is necessary to turn off the stove and immediately call a specialist. This was announced on March 12 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"The yellow color of the flame indicates a malfunction of the gas equipment: it is necessary to turn off the stove and call the gas service at 104," the source told RIA Novosti.

In addition, the specialist added that the blue color of a gas flame is considered normal. The press service also clarified that faulty equipment must be repaired by professionals.

On February 4, Pyotr Biryukov, Moscow's Deputy Mayor for Housing and Communal Services and Landscaping, announced that since the beginning of 2025, experts in the capital have checked more than 100,000 gas stoves in citizens' apartments. According to him, the specialists of the municipal economy complex checked the operability and compliance of the plates with safety requirements.
