Russian paratroopers captured the Ukrainian Armed Forces strongholds in the Chasova Yara industrial zone

Ivanovo and Kostroma assault units of the 98th Guards Airborne Division stormed large strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of multi-storey buildings and the Chasova Yara industrial zone in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on March 12 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry noted that the paratroopers entered enemy positions under the cover of artillery fire, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and armored groups on combat vehicles.

The units fired small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers. In addition to the strongholds, they managed to destroy two enemy machine-gun emplacements, as well as a Baba-Yaga hexacopter, which was trying to drop ammunition on Russian military personnel.

"We are completing tasks, occupying territories, storming. We are currently working on the outskirts, the industrial zone, and the forest area. The last task was to take a four—story building where the invaders were holed up: two machine gunners, eight machine gunners, a sniper," said the commander of the assault group with the call sign Zeus.

On March 6, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that on the outskirts of Chasova Yar, artillery crews of the Ivanovo Airborne unit hit an AFU stronghold with personnel. UAV operators constantly conduct aerial reconnaissance in the compound's area of responsibility, identifying various targets.
