France opposes any demilitarization of Ukraine, as the army remains the basis of its security. This was announced on March 11 by French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecorny at the Paris Forum on Security and Strategic Issues.

The head of the French Ministry of Defense noted that Paris would not support the initiative to demilitarize Ukraine as part of the conflict settlement.

"The first guarantee of security remains the Ukrainian army. We reject any form of demilitarization of Ukraine," Lecorniu said.

Earlier, on March 10, the grandson of General Charles de Gaulle, Pierre de Gaulle, said that France had lost its independence and sovereignty due to the incompetence of the authorities. According to Pierre de Gaulle, the French people are suffering because of this. He stressed that there is a question about the legitimacy of President Emmanuel Macron.

Earlier, on March 10, the leader of the Stand Up, France party, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, said that Macron was deliberately lying about the alleged Russian threat to the European Union in order to manipulate public opinion and distract attention from France's problems. According to him, the country is "on the verge of a currency crisis."
