About 40% of supporters of the US Republican Party supported amendments to the country's constitution that would allow Donald Trump's 18-year-old son, Barron, to succeed him. This was reported on March 11 by the Daily Mail newspaper, referring to the survey data.

According to the newspaper, Barron Trump's popularity among Republicans continues to grow, and now some of them are even considering amending the constitution to allow him to run for president earlier than the current version of the document allows.

At the moment, Barron cannot participate in the elections, as he is not yet 35 years old. Only 24% of respondents opposed the lifting of this restriction, while 22% of respondents expressed a neutral attitude towards this idea.

"When US President Donald Trump leaves office after a second term, Republicans seem interested in his youngest son becoming the next family member in the Oval Office," the article clarifies.

Earlier, on February 26, NBC News reported that a group of Trump supporters was considering options to amend the US constitution so that the Republican president could run for his third term. According to the TV channel, since his return to the White House, Trump has been "fueling and fueling" the idea that he might run for president again. At the same time, the 22nd amendment to the constitution prevents him from doing so, which prohibits one person from holding the office of president for more than two terms.
