Degtyarev congratulates the National Aero Club of Russia on its 90th anniversary

On Tuesday, March 11, the Chkalov National Aero Club of Russia celebrates the 90th anniversary of its founding. On this day, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev congratulated the staff of the aero club and noted its achievements.

In his speech, Degtyarev also stressed the importance of work on the restoration of the Borki airfield.

"We are working to revive the glory of the Chkalov National Aero Club. I would like to say a big thank you to its head, Director Sergey Ambarnov. I think this is a great acquisition for the Ministry of Sports team. <...> And for our part, together with Director Sergey Ambarnov, we commit ourselves to developing Borki airfield. The only sports airfield in Russia," Degtyarev emphasized.

Over the years, graduates and students of the aero club have set 3,885 records, it has trained 29 absolute world champions, 12 of whom trained under the guidance of coach Kasum Nazhmudinov. The Minister expressed his admiration for the legendary mentor, noting his great contribution to the development of aviation sports.

Nazhmudinov, in turn, expressed his love for the flying club.

"The National Aero Club is like my home. Since 1969, when I started working as a senior aerobatics coach, I have loved the aero club ever since," said Nazhmudinov.
