UAZ announced a change in car prices

Prices for new UAZ cars increased by 6% in 2024, which is significantly lower than official inflation data in Russia. Alexey Spirin, General Director of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, told Izvestia about this in an interview.
"Of course, there are macroeconomics, production costs, which are affected by tariffs on resources, and the sharply increased costs of logistics, raw materials, and components. Against this background, we strive to actively reduce our own costs so as not to pass these costs on to the consumer. I can say with confidence that at the moment UAZ remains the most affordable product in its segment," Spirin said.
As for UAZ Profi cars with diesel engines, which are expected to be on sale this year, their cost of such a modification will be slightly higher than gasoline, the head of the automobile plant shared. However, such a car will be significantly cheaper than its closest competitors, and its advantages will make it possible to compensate for the difference in price relative to the gasoline version in about one and a half to two years of ownership, he stressed.
In the future, the Patriot SUV will also receive a diesel engine, get a new electromechanical "distributor", LED optics, a new multimedia system and an updated interior. The company expects that the share of diesel-powered modifications in the total sales volume of UAZ Patriot will be 15-20%.
