- In the Kursk region, the OGE was canceled and allowed to be certified at school instead of the Unified State Exam.

In the Kursk region, the main state exam (OGE) was canceled after grade 9, and instead of the unified state exam (USE), they were allowed to choose a school certification. This was announced on March 11 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein.
"The OGE has been canceled for ninth graders. Graduates of the 9th grades will be able to pass certification in the form of midterm exams in their schools," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
He clarified that 11th grade students, as in 2024, have a choice: take the Unified State Exam or get certified at school. Khinstein stressed that the innovations apply to all 430 regional educational institutions, where 11.7 thousand ninth-graders and more than 4.2 thousand eleventh-graders study.
The decision was made at the federal level, it is fixed by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
On January 17, deputies of the State Duma proposed to allow compulsory delivery of only two subjects after the 9th grade instead of four as part of a temporary pilot project in five regions. Among other things, it is proposed to test a new procedure for enrolling applicants in secondary vocational education programs at the expense of regional and local budgets.
