Rospotrebnadzor has ruled out the risks of Ebola spreading in Russia

Rospotrebnadzor has ruled out the risk of Ebola spreading in Russia, the agency's press service reported on March 11.
"The risks of infection spreading in Russia are currently excluded," follows from the statement in the Telegram channel.
The agency added that it keeps the situation with the detection of Ebola cases in Uganda under operational control.
It is noted that Rospotrebnadzor has developed diagnostic kits that can detect the genetic material of the virus, as well as test systems for detecting antibodies.
At the same time, the agency urges Russian citizens planning trips to Uganda to take into account the fever situation and take precautions, since at this stage there are no approved drugs for the treatment of the disease.
A new outbreak of Ebola virus disease was confirmed in Uganda on January 30. One of the first patients was a nurse at a metropolitan hospital who sought medical help after experiencing fever-like symptoms. On Thursday, January 30th, she passed away. An autopsy confirmed the presence of ebolavirus Sudan (SUDV).
The last time Uganda experienced an outbreak was at the end of 2022. 55 of the 143 infected people died, including six medical workers.
Ebola hemorrhagic fever is transmitted through contact with infected body fluids and tissues. Symptoms include headache, vomiting blood, muscle pain, and bleeding.
