Moscow noted the steady growth in the number of companies in the field of design

There are almost 6 thousand companies operating in the Moscow design industry, and their number is increasing every year. In 2024, the indicator increased by more than 16%, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.

"Moscow actively supports beginners and experienced specialists in the creative sector. Competitions, accelerators, and training courses are held for them. Last year alone, city projects brought together 2.7 thousand industry representatives from all over the country," Sergunina said.

Among such projects is the Design Factory. In 2024, there were three streams of the program — participants from 62 regions, including St. Petersburg, Crimea, Tula, Omsk, and Chelyabinsk regions, tried their hand. They have prepared almost 300 solutions for 83 industrial enterprises. As a result, over 70 cooperation agreements were signed.

To help entrepreneurs, the Materials Center online platform was launched in 2023, where you can purchase fabrics and accessories directly from manufacturers from more than 15 countries: Russia, Belarus, India, China, Turkey and others.

Another project is the Design Workshop. As part of the competition, participants develop a concept for souvenirs, for example, for VDNH, the Gzhel Porcelain Factory and the Mikhail Bulgakov Museum. In 2024, 360 specialists presented their ideas to customers.
