- A resident of the Kherson region was sentenced to 12 years for espionage in the interests of Ukraine.

The Kherson Regional Court sentenced Oleg Rashchupkin, a 23-year-old local resident who is a citizen of Ukraine, to 12 years in prison for espionage. This was announced on March 11 on the official website of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia.
The court found that in October and November 2023, Raschupkin collected data on the movement and location of military equipment and personnel of the Russian Armed Forces. Subsequently, he passed this information on to his sister, and she, in turn, sent it to representatives of the Ukrainian intelligence service.
It is specified that Rashchupkin will serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony.
On February 25, the Department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in the Kherson region stopped the criminal activities of a 51-year-old Ukrainian citizen involved in espionage in the region. Then a criminal case was opened against the woman under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Espionage"), the maximum penalty for which is 20 years in prison.
