Vilfand recommended that Moscow motorists refrain from changing tires.

Moscow motorists should not rush to change winter tires to summer ones yet. The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, warned about this on Tuesday, March 11.
The forecaster noted that on Saturday there will be a sharp drop in temperature by almost 8 degrees, at night it will be around 0, in the afternoon from 4 to 5 degrees Celsius, in the region — up to +7 degrees.
"On Sunday night, the temperature is already negative — from -1 to -6 degrees, and in the afternoon — from +2 to +7, but the temperature will be higher than normal. Precipitation is expected in some places over the weekend, heavy in some places, and sleet is possible. It is still impractical to change the wheels, because the temperature can still be negative at night and in the morning," Vilfand told the Moscow City News agency.
He added that it would be necessary to think about changing the wheels in April.
On the same day, Alexander Ilyin, a forecaster at the Meteo forecasting center, told RT that frosts could come to the capital region over the weekend.
Earlier, on March 10, the Ministry of Transport of the Moscow region warned that it was still dangerous to ride motorcycles, according to 360.ru . The agency indicated that the spring weather is still being established, so early in the morning and late in the evening there may be ice on the highways.
On the same day, Evgeny Tishkovets, a specialist at the Phobos weather center, announced that the traditional March cold weather would return to Moscow for a short time over the weekend. The temperature will return to the climatic norm in March. Tishkovets advised Moscow motorists not to change winter tires until April.
