A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Ministry of Defense said that at night the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the regions of the Russian Federation with the help of drones, 343 drones were detected and shot down, including six attack unmanned aerial vehicles intercepted near the Kursk nuclear power plant.

"As a result of the crushed and fragments of downed Ukrainian UAVs falling on residential and economic infrastructure, there are dead and injured civilians," the Defense Ministry said.

Units of the "Southern" group of forces have actively liberated the village of Gorky in the Donetsk People's Republic, while units of the Zapad group of forces have improved their tactical situation.

"Air defense systems shot down two American JDAM guided aerial bombs, two HIMARS multiple rocket launchers made in the United States and a Vampire multiple rocket launcher made in the Czech Republic," the ministry added.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 657 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 46,270 unmanned aerial vehicles, 600 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22,119 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,526 multiple rocket launchers, 22,425 field artillery and mortars, and 32,696 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
