Patrushev spoke about the growth of food trade between Russia and Uzbekistan

The trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan in the field of food and agricultural products increased by 20%. This was announced on March 11 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan for Investment, Industry and Trade Jamshid Khodjaev.
"Russia and Uzbekistan are strategic partners in the field of agriculture. In 2024, the turnover of agricultural products and foodstuffs increased by 20%. This year, the positive dynamics continues," Patrushev said.
He noted that the Russian Federation considers the Uzbek market to be very promising for its exporters. Moscow is ready to increase supplies of grain, livestock products, sunflower oil and confectionery to the republic.
Patrushev said that in 2024, the country mainly exported sugar, baby food, sunflower oil, cake, meal and confectionery products to Uzbekistan. The Deputy Prime Minister added that Russia is interested in further increasing imports of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan, and all necessary conditions have been created for their unhindered import.

Prior to that, on December 5, 2024, Putin said that Russia retains world leadership in wheat supplies, and the country ranks third in food exports overall.
