In spring, a headdress plays a key role in protecting hair and facial skin from adverse weather conditions. Irina Kondrakhina, head of the Consultative and Diagnostic Center of the State Scientific Center for Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology of the Russian Ministry of Health, told Izvestia on March 11 why it is important to protect the scalp and hair in the spring season.
"With the onset of spring, when nature awakens, the importance of a headdress becomes especially obvious. It not only complements your look, but also plays a key role in protecting your hair and facial skin from adverse weather conditions," the expert noted.
She clarified that the cold spring air, wind, temperature fluctuations and bright sun can negatively affect the condition of the hair for several reasons. First, the cold air drains moisture from the hair, making it dry.
In addition, low temperatures worsen the structure of the hair, leading to its fragility. At the same time, dry air promotes static electricity, making hair fluffy and uncontrollable.
The dermatovenerologist added that the spring wind tangles the hair, damaging it and contributing to the formation of split ends. In addition, sudden temperature fluctuations between the street and the room create stress for the scalp and hair, which are very sensitive to temperature fluctuations.
"The headdress protects the hair from ultraviolet radiation, which can cause burnout and damage to the structure. It also protects the skin from the sun, preventing the appearance of age spots and premature aging. Do not forget to choose a suitable headdress that will protect your hair and facial skin from the vagaries of the weather, preserving their beauty and health," concluded Kondrakhina.
Earlier, on March 5, Elena Aleksentseva, a pediatrician at Invitro-Voronezh, told Izvestia that following the daily routine is a key factor in maintaining a person's physical and mental health. A balanced diet and adequate water regime are two more important components of a healthy lifestyle, she added.
