The Dome of Donbass thwarted the attack of Ukrainian UAVs on the Zuyevskaya thermal power plant in the DPR

The Domol Donbas air defense and electronic warfare system intercepted 45 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) during the day. This was announced on March 11 by the Department of the FSB of Russia for the region.

According to the agency, among other things, a kamikaze drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was intercepted, aimed at the Zuevskaya thermal power plant, an extremely important facility in the DPR.

In addition, a hexacopter attack on a local electrical substation was prevented in the Kuibyshev district, and a reconnaissance UAV monitoring the area near residential areas was eliminated in Kirovsky district.

It is noted that all intercepted drones were neutralized by FSB specialists who used special equipment during the operation. The detected explosive objects were destroyed at a specialized landfill.

The day before, the regional defense headquarters announced that the Dome of Donbass had intercepted and destroyed 223 targets over Donetsk and Makeyevka in a week. It was clarified that the US-made Switchblade-600 drone was suppressed. Also, an aircraft-type UAV was suppressed near the Kuibyshev district of Donetsk, which carried out reconnaissance of the area to identify air defense calculations.
