A case on calls to extremism has been opened against a resident of Yalta.


A criminal case on calls to extremism has been initiated against a 38-year-old resident of Yalta. This was announced on March 11 by the Department of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
It was established that the woman, hiding under a pseudonym, published a message in Telegram, which contained calls for extremism. After examination, it was concluded that her notes contain linguistic signs of incitement in the form of a call to commit violent acts against Russians.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for extremist activities committed using the Internet")," the ministry said.
She was given a measure of restraint in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior. The FSB clarified that the sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison.
On March 6, employees of the Russian FSB directorate for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol detained a Russian citizen on suspicion of publicly calling for the murder of law enforcement officers. It was established that he published posts calling for extremist actions under the pseudonym Udav Trancheiny. A criminal case has been opened under the same article.
