The doctor named the reasons for the early appearance of wrinkles

The early appearance of wrinkles on the face may indicate chronic inflammatory processes in the skin, as well as the presence of genetic and autoimmune diseases. On March 14, Polina Razheva, a dermatologist at the Sberbank Health medical company, told Izvestia about these and other causes of the corresponding condition.
For example, early wrinkles may bother patients with atopic dermatitis. Among the genetic diseases, the expert identified ichthyosis, as well as premature aging syndrome. In autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus and scleroderma, early wrinkles appear due to changes in skin structure, and in Cushing's syndrome, due to excessive production of corticosteroid hormones in the body, which leads to skin atrophy, the expert explained.
"The appearance of dryness and, consequently, wrinkles is also found in iron deficiency anemia, thyroid pathologies. Wrinkles can also appear due to stress. The fact is that under chronic stress, the hormone cortisol is produced — it destroys collagen and elastin, which are responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the skin. It is important to note that improper care also has a negative impact on skin quality, including insufficient hydration and refusal to use sunscreens," said Razhaeva.
According to her, lifestyle also plays an important role. If there is insufficient fluid intake — 1.5–2 liters per day in the absence of contraindications — the water balance may be disrupted, because of this, the skin becomes dry, which leads to the formation of wrinkles. Adherence to a diet high in sugars and trans fats, the consumption of alcoholic beverages and smoking also contribute to the formation of wrinkles.
"As a preventive measure for the appearance of premature wrinkles, first of all, it is necessary to note the need to follow a healthy lifestyle: drinking enough water, maintaining a healthy diet, following doctor's recommendations for the treatment of chronic diseases, reducing stress factors, and giving up bad habits," the expert said.
Also, do not forget about regular home skin care. Razheva advised washing your face twice a day using a suitable cleanser and then applying a moisturizer.
In addition, she recommended using products with active ingredients, such as serums with acids and retinol, according to a scheme agreed with a dermatologist. When going outside, it is important to apply sunscreen, especially with an ultraviolet index of 3 or more according to the weather forecast. During your stay in the active sun, you need to update it every two hours.
"If wrinkles appear, you should consult a dermatologist. He will help you choose the optimal care for a specific skin type, and if necessary, he will recommend botulinum therapy, hardware cosmetology procedures, and refer you to a doctor of another specialty," the specialist concluded.
On March 11, Natalia Mikhailova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, dermatovenerologist, scientific director of MARTINEX, told Izvestia about the causes and methods of preventing age spots in the spring. She noted that it is important to use a cream with SPF 50+ at any time of the year, as well as to apply cosmetics with skin-lightening components. Retinoic peels, for example, do a good job of this.
