GAC revealed details about the equipment of the Empower sedan in Russia

GAC has shared new details about the equipment of the Empower sedan, which will be the brand's first four-door in the Russian market. The car will be presented in two versions, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on March 11.

The length of the GAC Empow is 4700 mm with a wheelbase of 2736 mm, and a multi-link suspension is installed at the rear. The company said that Empower has one of the lowest centers of mass in its class, which is located at a height of 550 mm from the ground. The coefficient of aerodynamic drag is 0.26.

The Empow will be available in two exterior versions. The basic version has a more traditional design, while the S version features a front bumper with pronounced air intakes, additional side sills, a rear bumper skirt with a diffuser and double nozzles, as well as a wing on the trunk lid. It is claimed that the aerodynamic body kit affects downforce at high speeds.

The sedan's basic equipment will include diode optics, air conditioning, two airbags, two screens (7 and 10.25 inches), and an Apple CarPlay-enabled media system. On the S version, both screens have a diagonal of 10.25 inches. The top-end version has dual-zone climate control, leather interior, electric front seats, a Yamaha music system with eight speakers, wireless charging for gadgets, heated all seats, six airbags and a set of driving assistants, including adaptive cruise control.

The GAC Empower will be presented with a 1.5-liter engine (170 hp; 250 Nm) paired with a 7-speed "robot" with two wet clutches. The sedan accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.95 seconds, and fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 5.9 liters per 100 km (according to the NEDC method). There are five driving modes.

On February 28, GAC announced the imminent launch of sales in Russia of the GS4 model, which will become the brand's third crossover. This model debuted in the Chinese market in 2024 under the name GAC GS4 Max. The length of the crossover is 4685 mm with a wheelbase of 2750 mm. The basic version has a 1.5 engine (170 hp, 250 Nm), it is aggregated by a seven-speed robotic gearbox.

On February 20, GAC unveiled a special version of the large GS8 crossover in Russia, which was named the GX Traveller. The new maximum configuration is designed for fans of autotourism and long-distance travel.
