Bank branches will be opened in MegaFon salons

MegaFon and Promsvyazbank (PSB) will open additional offices of the bank on the basis of the operator's communication salons. The first such platform appeared in the salon on Vosstaniya Square in St. Petersburg, the press service of the telecommunications company said.

In addition to other services, the bank's employees register data in the Unified Biometric System (UBS). The whole procedure takes no more than 10 minutes.

In accordance with the law "On Communications", starting from January 1, a contract for the provision of cellular communication services with foreign citizens or stateless persons is concluded according to the new rules. A foreigner needs to make a notarized passport translation and get SNILS, and then create and confirm an account on Gosuslugi. After that, you need to register with the EBS. It may take more than two weeks. The initiative of the telecom operator and the bank will allow visitors to speed up the execution of the contract by combining the transfer of biometrics and activation of the SIM card in one visit.

In addition, from April 1, the use of biometrics will become one of the identification options necessary to activate SIM cards for Russian citizens. According to Natalia Rosenberg, head of the PSB Debit Card and Partner Products Department, biometric technologies are increasingly being used in various fields, speeding up and simplifying the provision of services.

"Together with our partner, we are building a comfortable and high-quality infrastructure for citizens, where they will be able to submit biometrics in a matter of minutes, issue a SIM card and simultaneously use the financial services necessary in everyday life," she said.

The project is beneficial to all parties, added David Borzilov, Director of MegaFon's Sales Strategy and Development Department. "We will be able to provide our subscribers with a new service. And most importantly, our customers can now save time when purchasing a SIM card," he concluded.
