Ho Chi Minh City Square appeared in the Vyborg district of St. Petersburg

"Ho Chi Minh City Square" appeared in the Vyborg district of St. Petersburg. The corresponding decree was signed by Governor Alexander Beglov, the Smolny press service reported on Tuesday, March 11.
The location is located east of No. 15 Prosveshcheniya Avenue, next to the existing Ho Chi Minh City Street. The decision to assign the name was made at a meeting of the Toponymic Commission on December 12, 2024.
According to the 78 TV channel, the name was chosen in honor of the Vietnamese twin city of St. Petersburg. There is also a monument next to the square to Ho Chi Minh, the first president of Vietnam, after whom Ho Chi Minh City was named.
Earlier in March, it was reported that the Consulate General of Myanmar had been opened in St. Petersburg. According to Beglov, the opening of the organization in an exceptionally short time became possible thanks to the joint efforts of the parties.
