Local residents of the liberated village of Cherkasskoye Porechnoye told about how they survived the constant attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on March 11 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

According to residents, there were only six of them left, and the rest died as a result of strikes by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with thermal sensors.

"You'll flood the stove, the heat is coming — immediately the drone. Most of them were killed when they went out to get water, they gathered in groups of three or four," one of the men shared during a meeting with Alexander Khinstein, the acting governor of the Kursk region.

There were also problems with drinking water due to the lack of wells. The man added that the water was extracted after rain or snow.

Another man clarified that his parents, a 98—year-old father and a 95-year-old mother, had died. He noted that the remaining residents tried to leave the settlement by car, but all the routes were blocked.

After that, they tried to leave by car in the direction of Lgov, but the road was covered with wire and mines. Therefore, it was decided to turn around to Sudju, to a boarding school, the man concluded.

The day before, it was reported that the Russian army had liberated 32 settlements in the Kursk region from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Thus, on March 8-9, as a result of the actions of units of the North group of forces, seven settlements were liberated: Malaya Loknya, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye and Kositsa, Lebedevka, Viktorovka, Nikolaevka and Staraya Sorochina.
