The Russian Defense Ministry has released footage of the liberation of Lebedevka in the Kursk region.

On March 11, the Russian Defense Ministry released footage of the liberation of the Lebedevka settlement in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region from militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) by a unit of the 51st Guards Parachute Regiment of the 106th Guards Airborne Division.

The ministry clarified that the servicemen carried out their tasks with the support of Russian aviation, which attacked the fortified positions of Ukrainian militants, and artillery fire. The enemy's positions were discovered by the operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The paratroopers managed to open the defense system, the main strongholds and firepower of the enemy. They also provided assistance to airborne units by conducting aerial surveillance.

It is specified that most of the Ukrainian militants surrendered during the attacks of the Russian military. In addition, in honor of the capture of the point, flags of the Russian Federation and the Airborne Forces were installed on the Victory in the Great Patriotic War memorial in the center of the village.

"The task was to liberate Lebedevka. We received the task, the assault group advanced through the cornfield. They entered as secretly as possible, gaining a foothold in the first houses of Severnaya Street. The enemy did not understand what was happening," said the commander of the assault company with the call sign Ghost.

The day before, it was reported that the Russian army had liberated 32 settlements in the Kursk region from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Thus, on March 8-9, as a result of the actions of units of the North group of forces, seven settlements were liberated: Malaya Loknya, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye and Kositsa, Lebedevka, Viktorovka, Nikolaevka and Staraya Sorochina.
