The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the Russian Armed Forces fighting during the liberation of Staraya Sorochina

On March 11, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of the combat work of units of the North group of forces, which liberated the village of Staraya Sorochina in the Kursk region during offensive operations.

The military personnel of the North group of forces, supported by artillery, aviation and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crews, continue to destroy the enemy in the border area of the Kursk region. The published footage shows the combat work of military units of the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 44th Army Corps of the North group of forces during the liberation of Staraya Sorochina.

"In a relatively short period of time, the units of the regiment managed to successfully advance several kilometers ahead. We have captured several settlements, including Novaya Sorochina and Staraya Sorochina. I would like to mention separately the artillery and UAV units, which, due to their high professionalism, were able to deliver a crushing blow, which allowed our troops to move forward," said the regiment commander with the call sign Apostol.

The units of the North group of forces continue to move forward, step by step knocking out the enemy from populated areas and fortified positions, pushing back the enemy, seizing trophies and capturing the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The enemy is as demoralized as possible. We see how he gives in and runs. Accordingly, we are building on our success by inflicting fire damage on the retreating enemy," the regimental commander summed up.

On March 8, the Ministry of Defense said that the Russian army had taken control of the settlements of Viktorovka, Nikolaevka and Staraya Sorochina in the Kursk region. During the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 180 militants and various military equipment in this area, including a German-made Marder infantry fighting vehicle.
