The military of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation spoke about the progress of the operation to enter the rear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the pipeline

Russian military personnel told Izvestia about an operation in the Kursk region, during which they covered about 16 km in order to get into the depths of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near the city of Suja.

The assault groups "Aida", "Veterans", "Vostok", the Akhmat special forces detachment, the 11th Guards separate airborne assault Brigade and the 30th Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division took part in the "throw through the pipe".

"It took a week to get there. In complete silence, no phones, no lights, no sound, complete isolation. Then the unloading began in small groups and the occupation of previously agreed positions," said a fighter with the call sign Kolos.

According to the participants of the operation, they had to move half-bent, and in many places even crawl.

"It was difficult, yes, but we went in order to carry out this brilliant operation in order to dislodge the enemy from the territory of the Kursk region," said a soldier with the call sign Mowgli.

He noted that the main advantage of the plan was the unexpected appearance, which helped to take the enemy by surprise.

"The task was set — to appear where they did not expect it. To make their fear increase. And they ran, as planned," the soldier with the call sign Medved clarified.

The commander of the Akhmat special forces, Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov, added that the attack on enemy positions was conducted simultaneously from three directions.

"They were the first to come out of the pipe, knocked out the enemy from the supports, went in and took Kubatkin with the guys from the 30th regiment. Despite everything, they held the settlement until we were fully connected from three directions," he explained.

On March 9, Alaudinov posted a moment of parting words and preparation of the fighters for the operation. The next day, it became known that the actions of the attack aircraft helped to ensure a breakthrough in the enemy's defense and disrupted the defense management system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the entire line of combat contact with the enemy in the region. This allowed for the liberation of more than eight settlements within a few days.
