Rubio stated the need for Kiev to make concessions in any peace agreement.

Ukraine will have to accept the loss of some territories under any peace agreement. This statement was made on March 10 by the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"Rubio said on Monday that Ukraine would have to make concessions on territories as part of any agreement to end [the conflict]," The New York Times noted.
In addition, the US Secretary of State noted that it would be "very difficult" for Ukraine to regain the borders it had in 2014. He also added that Kiev would need to make "difficult" decisions in order to fully end the conflict.
On the same day, Bloomberg reported that the upcoming negotiations between the delegations of Kiev and Washington in Saudi Arabia would be another logical attempt by the administration of American leader Donald Trump to convince Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of the need to conclude a partial truce.
