The United States and China are negotiating a summit between Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping in June. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal on March 10.

It is expected that the meeting, which may take place on the birthday of both leaders, will be a step towards official trade negotiations.

"Washington and Beijing have begun discussing a potential 'birthday summit' in the United States in June between President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping," the statement said.

Earlier, on March 7, Trump said that Washington wants a dialogue with Moscow and Beijing to get rid of nuclear weapons. The Head of State recalled that similar negotiations had already been conducted during his first term as president. According to Trump, he was very close to achieving a denuclearization program with the Russian Federation.

Prior to that, on February 19, the American leader confirmed his intention to negotiate with Russia and China on reducing the number of nuclear warheads. He stressed that the international community should not allow the use of nuclear weapons.
