Victory Readings are being held at the Battle of Stalingrad Panorama Museum in Volgograd in preparation for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The event was opened by the chorus of the Volgograd Tsaritsyn Opera Theater, who performed the song "Get up, the country is huge", and afterward various works about the Great Patriotic War and the Battle of Stalingrad were performed.

Such national and honored artists of Russia as Lidia Velezheva, Evgeny Knyazev, Marina Esipenko and Alexander Pavlov took part in the Victory Readings.

The Victory Readings project tells about the courage of soldiers and civilians during the Great Patriotic War. For the first time, it was held on the night of December 4-5 last year at the Moscow metro station Mayakovskaya.
